Wendy Greene

Wendy Greene is the Managing Director of The Peace Alliance, a national nonprofit organization whose purpose is to empower civic activism for a culture of peace. Its current focus is the campaign for a U.S. Department of Peace. Wendy has a diverse background in the for-profit, nonprofit, and personal transformation arenas. She served 13 years at the former aerospace company, Hughes Electronics Corporation, and its subsidiaries (including DIRECTV®). During this time she fulfilled a variety of corporate communications and management positions, including Director of Public Relations at Hughes Communications, Inc., and Manager of Corporate Investor Relations. From 2001 to 2003, she worked at the award-winning Challenge Day organization in roles ranging from Workshop Coordinator to Director of Operations. Prior to joining the Department of Peace campaign in 2004, first as a Congressional District Team Leader and later as a California co-State Coordinator, Wendy facilitated transformational seminars with troubled teens in specialty schools. Daughter of a West Point graduate, Wendy grew up an “Air Force Brat,” living in six states before the age of five. A member of the Greene family has served in every major U.S. conflict beginning with the Revolutionary War and Wendy currently has family members serving on active duty in both the Air Force and the Marines. She holds a B.A. degree in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and currently lives in Maryland (yea!).
